The students who were scheduled to take the national exam at Hawassa University were in grave danger when the bridge connecting the main campus to the campus of the Institute of Technology abruptly fell. Today's accident occurred about 2:00 AM  local time , and its cause is still being looked into.

According to reporter who was there, an ambulance was called to take more than 7 students to Hawassa Referral Hospital.
Work is being done to use a dozer to free collapsed bridge that connects the main campus with the campus of the Institute of Technology after it abruptly collapsed.

Thousands of parents of students and local residents are currently on the site as a result of the accident.
