The World Health Organization (WHO) is expected to hold a secret ballot today to re-nominate Dr. Tewodros Adhanom as its Director-General at its meeting in Geneva. According to international news agencies, Dr. Tewodros is the sole candidate for the presidency of the World Health Organization. However, the election of the Director General will be approved by a vote of all member states in May. Some 28 European Union member states, including Kenya and Rwanda, have previously supported Dr. Tewodros' re-election, but Ethiopia has rejected him.
